Gates of Light, 2007

Gates of Light was created for the town hall campus of Cary, North Carolina. It was inspired by Cary's link with nature and by the past when there had been a loblolly pine forest where the town hall now stands. It embodies the expansive warmth and energy of the people that embraces those who come here. The growth pattern found throughout nature and in the loblolly pine cone is of two spirals that intersect; they both expand outward and embrace.
